Why did you go into your particular field? I found a purpose not just in Healthcare but at an FQHC because our mission is to provide access to Healthcare for anyone who walks in the door. It's humbling to get to help those in my hometown.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A Teacher
What was your first job? Flower delivery driver at a local flower shop
What is the best advice you’ve ever received? What others think of you says more about them than it does about you.
What’s your favorite thing about your job? Watching someone from my Team learn, grow and develop into stronger career paths.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started your career? Hard days will come but they only win if you let them.
Who do you consider to be your greatest mentor and why? My Little Granny is my biggest mentor. She was the definition of grit, grace and hardworking Christian woman. She spent her life loving her family hard but was never afraid to break a sweat if the occasion called for it. I pull from her example when I feel like giving up.
When you’re not at work, what do you do to relax? I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my favorites play for the Camden Wildcats, Georgia Bulldog football and my escape is finding a sandbar on the river somewhere and enjoying my roots.
What is something about you that most people don’t know? That I go by my middle name and my first name is actually Mary. Which makes my initials MAD.
How do you hope to grow in your career? My goal is to continue growing in Leadership so that I can be the Leader someone else needs in their "I quit" moment.
If you couldn’t do what you’re doing now, what would you be doing? I would be doing something involving small children and babies or project management.
