Leasel "LD" Dwayne Maynard, 66, of St. Marys passed away at his residence on Sept. 26, 2021.
L.D. was born in El Paso, Texas, on Jan. 27, 1955 to the late Robert and Iris Maynard. He was in the military and served as a corpsman in the United States Navy. He had been living in St. Marys since 1992. He enjoyed motorcycles, horses and was an avid animal lover. He loved his family and all of his animals. He had two ferrets and his dogs, Trouble, Winston, Gizmo, Biscuit and Muffin.
He is survived by his wife, Hope Maynard of Waynesville, North Carolina; a son, John Maynard of Kingsland; a daughter, Sabrina Douglas (Nathan) of Waynesville, North Carolina; siblings, Robert Maynard, Wesley Maynard, David Maynard and Margaret Kendel; three grandchildren, Eric, Jordan and Mitchell.
A service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors.
